Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film: A first-of-its-kind event with quality movies & drive-in experience. The 1st edition of the Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film (AIFF) will take place from the 23rd until the 31st of August 2020 in Amman. The line-up of this inaugural edition includes 30 films – narratives and documentaries, Arab and international – as well as nine Shorts. They have all been released in 2019 – 2020, made by first-time directors or starring first-time lead actors. 27 Arab movies will compete for the Iris Award for Best Arab Narrative, Best Arab Documentary and Best Arab Short, delivered by an international Jury; while ten international films will compete for the Audience Award. Come and watch the movies in the first drive-in cinema in Jordan, precisely in the New Abdali area, and in the open-air theater at the Royal Film Commission.
