Under the Patronage of HE Mr. Csaba Czibere, the Hungarian Ambassador to Jordan and HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, the Jordanian National Orchestra Association (JOrchestra) Chairman, the Jordanian-Hungarian Friendship Concert will be held September  28th, at 7,30 pm, at Al Hussein Cultural Center.

The Concert held in cooperation with the Hungarian Embassy in Amman will introduce for the first time, the world-renowned Hungarian violinist Katica Illényi who was awarded the Artist of Merit as one of the most versatile artists of Hungary.

The special and limited seat Concert is conducted by Mr. Mohammad Sidiq.

Born in Budapest, Hungary and raised in a musical family, Katica's first teacher was her father Ferenc Illényi (1935-2007), who played in the Hungarian State Opera House. From the very beginning of her career, she played many operetta and musical roles, but always remained faithful to the violin. Besides classical music, she trained herself in various genres like jazz, swing and world music. She discovered the uniqueness of the genres that she did not get to know through classical music. From 1995 to 2001, she played with the Budapest Klezmer Band as a singer and violinist. Katica and her father travelled around Europe and the United States and released five albums together.

In 2015, she received the Artist of Merit of Hungary award from Zoltán Balog, Minister of Human Resources, and Péter Hoppal Secretary of State for Culture.

Tickets are available for JD25 (students JD15), at www.sajilni.com; at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University – Abdel Raheem Al Waked Street, Building 45, Shmeisani, and at the National Music Conservatory.
