Where Can I Find Someone Like You, Ali?

  • Wednesday 26 June 2019, 07:30 pm - 08:40 pm
  • Haya Cultural Center, Amman

A narrative of a Palestinian family that was left behind…

This monologue is a journey that deals with grief and loss from various perspectives. It's a roller coaster of emotions that will leave you with equal amounts of tears and laughter. This is about the details of their journey.

The crux of the story is portrayed in the heroic acts of Suheila, Ali's sister who brought her brother's body home to be buried, by convincing Henry Kissinger who released him from the Israeli morgue. Ali’s final wishes were to be buried in his beloved Jerusalem where he grew up.  Something the Israelis vehemently opposed and forbad the burial to take place in the Holy City.  He was ultimately buried in Hebron- where he was born.
